One Lone Iris

I took this photo this morning, October 29. Irises don't usually bloom at the end of October. Not even close. Usually it's a Spring bloom, so it's either very early or late, or perhaps just right. This year has been full of oddities and quirkiness. Turns we could never see coming, and surprises to say the least.  How are you doing during this time? Are you seeing the flowers, or the weeds? Maybe the one flower, among the many weeds? It's challenging to make sure the weeds don't distract you from the blooms.

Even more poignant, this bloom opened today, a day where schools closed early in anticipation of Tropical Storm Zeta. I stepped out in the rain to snap the pic, knowing it wouldn't be there for long but I have to catch the flowers when I see them.
