Hudson is 10!

2019

In recent birthdays, there's been four celebrations; one for each side of the family because the gatherings are huge and together it would be 30+ people, one for friends, and making the actually birthday day special. Hudson's 10th was no exception!

February 15-17, Event 1; Washington, DC weekend
We  rode the Metro and visited the Natural History Museum and the Air and Space Museum. It was a fun day with grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle and cousins. Hudson got the final vote on which museums to visit and picked the evening meal of Grandma Sue spaghetti with meatballs and cobbler for dessert! A bonus was getting to meet and pal around with our new canine family member Brody!

Such a sweet big brother, always wanting to carry her!
Trying on an astronaut's glove!
Hudson was eager to meet (and rough-house with his new dog cousin, Brody!

Hudson's eager to dig in to Grandma Sue's cobbler!

February 20, Event 2; Actual Birthday!
Hudson got a school delay due to the weather forecast! About an hour later I brought his requested Taco Bell and we dined together!

After school, Aunt Pam joined the kids and I to go see Ralph Breaks the Internet, when we got home, Ted had Hudson's requested Toquitos ready for dinner and the kids continued the hunt for presents (Hudson's request!). The hunt for presents was so much fun, and it may become a new tradition! He still had two more left, but decided he was tired and would save them for the morning!

February 22, Event 3; Sleep over
Hudson chose to have a sleep over for his party, which a lot of people think we're crazy for doing. Honestly though, it's easy and pretty much the least expensive party possible! The kids were dropped off around 6 and picked up before 9:30. We always have sleepovers on Friday night so we can recover Saturday night if necessary! The kids played and were asleep by 11:30 after Ted and I had to use our stern voices to hush some giggling fits which was quite adorable I must say. :)

February 24, Event 4; Family Birthday Party
A partial collection of Ted's family gathered on Sunday from 12:30-2:30, this is sometimes up to 18 people, but this time it was 9, a mellow close out to the celebrations! Hudson opted for Lasagna and donuts instead of cake.

Can you tell I force the kids to cooperate with a picture by saying, "No cobbler, ice cream cake, donuts until I get a picture with all of the kids!"?! It usually works!
