Sunshowers: Hudson

As I was driving through the sun and rain earlier this week, I thought about life...so cheesy! There's always sun and rain together, but sometimes it hard to see the sun when we're distracted by the rain. Here's our sun and rain from the last few weeks.

Here's the Hudson installment since I only had time to do one!

Showers:
We recently learned Hudson's cholesterol is high (240) and as stressful as that is, our pediatrician was not helpful at all. Hudson's been taking a very long time to fall asleep and has been wetting the bed again. His teacher thinks this could be from the stress of preschool graduation and starting kindergarten in a month. We're really working hard on Hudson sitting up at dinner and listening to directions the first time. He also needs some help learning personal space, especially around Sadie. When we ask him to move back from leaning on her, he moves across the room, even though we've shown him and explained moving back just six inches so.many.times (I'm getting annoyed just thinking about it!). We're also trying to help him play with her in a more functional way, rather than jumping around (shouting!) silly sounds, and faces, we suggest peekaboo, showing her a toy, singing a song. Again we've done this so many times, that now we just ask him to leave the room sometimes! Gah!

Sunshine:
In brighter news, Hudson is doing well at his new desk and loves to make projects! He is starting to read! Ted has been working with him at bed time sounding out words and saying words that he knows! He loves listening to books on CD that we've been getting from the library. We recently moved the legos upstairs and he's been playing with them there so the sunroom is a little less hazardous to Sadie. Hudson has adjusted well (we think!) to a lower cholesterol diet and he's now drinking chocolate almond milk (yum!) and we're eating more beans and fish. We've already finished the school supply shopping and next need to tackle fall clothes since he's now in size 7's!
